"Love Me Again" is a striking song by English language vocalizer John Newman. The song was released as a digital download in Europe on 17 May 2013, except for the United kingdom where information technology was released on 30 June 2013 as the lead single from his debut studio album, Tribute (2013). The song was written by Newman and Steve Booker and produced by Booker and Mike Spencer. The song was later featured on the soundtrack for video game FIFA fourteen.

It was nominated for the Brit Honor for British Single of the Yr at the 2022 BRIT Awards^[1] and nominated for the 2022 Ivor Novello Accolade for All-time Song Musically and Lyrically.

Background [edit]

In an interview with Digital Spy, Newman was asked if he sensed that the song had something special nearly it in the studio. He said, "Yep. The guy I wrote information technology with (Steve Booker), we turned around and had massive grins on our faces thinking, 'There's something good here'. But you but never know how good it is, y'all know?".

Newman was also asked if it was hard to write the lyrics about love and intermission-up, he said, "No, information technology's the only identify where I actually open up upward to somebody, through my music. I'1000 producing [the album] and writing information technology, it'southward good. I like to keep a concur of everything".^[2]

With the chord progression of Gm—Bb—Dm—C, the song is written in the fundamental of One thousand Dorian. The key signature is in D pocket-size. Both are modes of F major, of which either one can be used as the tonic note/chord, because, even so, the F major chord is non nowadays in the song.^[3]

Music video [edit]

Two music videos, both with elements of Northern soul dancing, have been released for "Honey Me Again". Ane version^[4] directed by Vaughan Arnell is based on the classic dear story of Romeo and Juliet.^[5] The woman in the video, Juliet, is French actress Margaux Billard, carefully watched over by her brother, Tybalt, played by Joseph Steyne. The Romeo, is British model Tommy-Lee Winkworth. This video ends in a cliffhanger equally they become run over past a truck and their fate remains unknown till Newman'south follow-upward single "Cheating", which starts with a newspaper article indicating that they had indeed survived the crash, which was a striking-and-run blow.

"Love Me Again" was featured on the soundtrack of video game FIFA 14,^[8] giving information technology a cult status among FIFA fans, as well as the Federation's #WorldCupAtHome serial, which opened FIFA's archive during the COVID-nineteen pandemic. It also appeared in the closing credits of the 2022 scientific discipline fiction film, Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The vocal was also featured on the American Goggle box series, Suits in the episode, "Buried Secrets", which aired on 6 March 2014, and in the opening scenes of the first episode of flavor 4, "One-Two-Three Get", which aired xi June 2014. "Dearest Me Again" is too a playable song in Just Dance 2015. The song was likewise used as the theme to the boob tube show Whiskey Cavalier which debuted in February 2022 and ended in May after one season.^[9] In August 2022 and May 2022 it was used in TV and radio adverts for National Rail.

The French aqueduct TF6 also used this song to shutdown its aqueduct.
